Pebble Beach, Exmouth, Western Australia
I am ordinary
unexceptional, belong to none
lean in and see
I am the stars of the sea
at your feet, within reach,
silky smooth, warm as sun
touch me
a dawn bird
In respon to RDP – Thursday : Pebble

Somewhere
there are footprints
left by only us
Somewhere
there is silence
where talk is superfluous
Somewhere
there is a beach
elaborate, in simplicity
Somewhere
there is a forest
that breathes for you and me
Somewhere
there are wide open spaces
for a crowd of two
Somewhere
is where,
I’d like to be with you.
a dawn bird
In response to RDP – Thursday : Elaborate

Blue plumbago
As blue as
a moment, alone,
with just the memory of his eyes.
As always,
a dawn bird
In response to July- Blues

Bunbury, Western Australia
Blown Away
Invisible, and strong
the pull
between us
we wrestle
against the futile whim
steadying feet
we ride white water
searching for a foothold,
to the unknown.
a dawn bird
In response to RDP – Saturday : Wind

Nightly
A teardrop falls silently
but lands in my heart with a thud
it wakes me from a deep slumber
where I dream happily
in the dark my hands search for you
but the space beside me is empty
there is no curled up warmth
your rhythmic breathing is silenced, by absence
and in that void, my sobs, too loud
As sunlight infuses the darkness
I see the teardrop again
this time, in my garden
it clings, never giving up
the winter rain leaves it untouched
the winds, only make it dance
the teardrop sparkles before me
a diamond, a jewel, a drop of rain
all precious
it gives me what I need
the hope,
I’ll sleep with love again.

In response to Word of the Day Challenge: Nightly
She traces the foam
down his spine
he throws his head back
ensnared
she joins him, in laughter
this moment, theirs alone.

Youth
Precious, finite
extravagantly misspent
a golden memory

Our lips
savour the wine
of nights past
and taste
the discovery, of now
a dawn bird
In response to RDP – Thursday : Discovery

At the core
we are we
bones of past,
sculpted on ours, undeniably
moved, and converted
by choice and circumstance
in synchrony, and by it
we offer and accept
with the bravery of the innocent
much like before, nothing else
just the moment in our hearts,
that lifetime
when,
we say yes, again.
a dawn bird
In response to Word of the Day Challenge – Saturday : Propose

Our lives
like the tread of tides
a pattern of beautiful seams
a dawn bird

Once ephemeral as the kiss
between sea and shore
in that liminal space
our lips lingered, for more
In response to RDP – Monday: Ephemeral
In each grain of sand
our story,
scripted by breeze.
In response to RDP – Monday : Breeze

The iridescence blinded me
the kaleidoscope drew me in
spun me like a web
captive,
I wait for that moment, and,
Enchanted I see,
her journey
on fairy wings, paper thin
the gilt, faded,
the reality
she alights
her life, rewritten,
the gift
she stills her wings with grace.
In response to RDP – Friday : Delay
no morning after
no taste of sweet regrets,
of where we’ve been
just bask in the warmth
of where we are
embraced by the silence
in words unsaid
unspoken
and, a memory
of what might have been.
In response to RDP – Tuesday: Lost
