Wow, a shelduck. I’ve never seen one.

Really?! They chase each other over tall gum trees making the most unusual honking sound! lol.

According to my family, they frequent parts of Victoria where duck hunting is permitted!

Have you ever seen Cape Barren geese? They are SO prehistoric looking! If you’ve missed them on my blog, do a search in the Menu bar. I always look for them in Esperance.

I am having trouble remembering whether I’ve seen them or whether my lads have, and I’ve just seen their photos. Probably the latter, when they went to Wilson’s Promontory in Victoria. They are beautiful.

They are quite memorable. I’m always amazed for such a large bird, they are so graceful in flight. They do take off and land like an airliner.

I’ve seen a few photos of them landing. Magnificent. Their face seems very mosaic-able. I must write all these ideas down somewhere. 🙂

I’ve got some close ups of the face that I can send to you.

That would be wonderful, dawnbird. You can try via my contact page. You don’t seem to have one on your page. Thank you.

Will look into it when I get home. Any time you like a picture for your work, please let me know. Happy to share with you!

Thank you, dawnbird. It is always nicer to use my own or friends’ photos if I can.

I’ve got more time at home mid April, will check my photo library then. Yes, more personal that way.
